PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Weatherby MHC01N300PR8B: is the next stepping stone in the Mark V series, building on the success of the revolutionary Backcountry 2.0 series. Its key addition is the High Country's lightweight vertical grip—The Peak 44 Bastion. As one of the lightest vertical grip stocks on the market, the Bastion, manufactured from carbon fiber, weighs a mere 24 ounces. The grip stock is equipped with dual front swivel studs, enabling multiple attachments, and a notable 3DHEX recoil pad which significantly reduces recoil.
The cutting-edge recoil pad features a series of interlinked voids hidden inside, which compress during recoil. This process extends the recoil impulse duration, thereby nullifying the harsh jolt typically associated with magnum chamberings. The High Country is based on the renowned steel Weatherby Mark V action and is fitted with a lightweight spiral fluted barrel. The barrel contours at either a #2 or #2 MOD, subject to chambering. This spiral fluting is instrumental in reducing weight and managing heat effectively.
Additional features include a spiral fluting on the bolt body, which not only further trims weight but also reduces bearing surface within the action. This results in smoother functioning. The bolt handle is threaded and furnished with a lightweight skeletonized knob. Also, Weatherby's highly-effective Accubrake ST is fitted to the threaded, spiral fluted barrel. With its 30 symmetrically-distributed ports, this device manages recoil effectively, making even magnum chamberings enjoyable to shoot. All Mark Vs are made with pride in Sheridan, WY.
