PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Sporting rifle model 1873 is adorned with features such as a full octagonal blue barrel, a frame hardened by case, a slick walnut stock, and sights with Buckhorn rear and blade front.

Characteristics of this model include a lever action, a .45 LC caliber, a capacity of 13 rounds, and it carries a blue finish complimented by a case hardened frame. The sight settings include Buckhorn and Blade with a straight walnut stock. The barrel length measures at 24.25 octagonal, with an overall length of 43.25, and a light weight of 8.2 lb. While the 1866 model was widely popular, the 1873 model saw immediate success upon its release. Despite assumptions from the Winchester Repeating Arms Company that most sales would be domestic military, civilian sales and foreign military purchases ended up driving profits that year.
