Is The H&K CC9 The Best New Micro Compact Pistol In 2025?
Heckler & Koch has earned a reputation for manufacturing some of the finest handguns in the world, so we've been eager to get our hands on the CC9 and determine how it stacks up against the competition. And at a glance, the H&K CC9 looks very promising.

With fully ambidextrous controls and interchangeable back straps, right and left-handed shooters alike can get a custom fit that suits their needs. The subtle palm swells and finger groove ensure a positive master grip when handling the pistol, whereas the extended 12-round magazine provides just enough material for larger hands to hold onto without sacrificing comfort or concealment.
A 10-round magazine is also available, meaning the CC9 can be carried even in more restrictive states. Plus, each pistol ships with factory night sights and an optics-ready slide cut for the popular RMSc footprint. Shooters can run iron sights or a dot, and the Picatinny accessory rail provides the option to mount a light or laser module.
First Impressions
Would we concealed carry the CC9? Yes. It feels great in the hand and is incredibly well balanced, offering a compelling blend of features that make it perfect for year-round EDC. And while none of these features are groundbreaking, they are executed to perfection at a price point many shooters can afford.
This may be Heckler & Koch's first micro compact pistol, but it almost certainly isn't their last. The base CC9 is an incredibly solid offering, so we're excited to see what a future H&K equivalent to the Sig Sauer P365X Macro could look like.
