Cross Armory CRPP: in heavily regulated states, AR-15 owners are opening the receivers with greater frequency, creating the need for a more durable pin system to prevent undue wear on the forward pivot point. Cross Armory offers the solution with Pin Pal. This front takedown pin replacement transfers rotational wear from a steel pin bearing on the aluminum receiver to a steel pin which bears on a pre-lubricated MIL-SPEC metal bearing. The Pin Pal includes a pin and locking nut machined from 4140 Ordnance Steel for extreme durability, and a MIL-SPEC captive bearing made from porous metal with an increased iron content for increased strength and resistance to shock loads. Separating the receivers creates start-up friction which causes the captive bearing to release a thin layer of oil on the bearing s surface. The Captive Bearing can be press fit into any upper receiver without special tools. The Pin Pal installs easily on virtually all AR-15/M4 weapons, and is easily removed to return your rifle to the previous set-up.
