For increased stability and precise consistency in accuracy, the X-Bolt employs free-floating by bedding both the front and rear parts of the action. The recessed muzzle crown also plays an essential role in safeguarding the rifling from potential damage. Another special element is the Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, whose unique design and material contribute to the deflection of recoil forces in a specific direction, pulling the stock comb away from your face to mitigate felt recoil and muzzle climb.
