Howa is a Japanese manufacturer with a history dating back to 1907, originally established as Toyoda's Loom Works before transitioning to firearms production in 1932. The company became known for producing military rifles such as the Arisaka Type 99 during World War II and later developed the Type 64 and Type 89 rifles for the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
